Professional competences:

Industrial biotechnology and bioprocess engineering result from the integration of biochemistry, microbiology, cell biology, and process engineering. Its aim is to exploit the potential of microorganisms and cells by technical means. This module gives an introduction into bioprocess engineering and its areas of application.

The participants are able to quantitatively describe and explain bioprocesses. In addition, participants can name the most important biotechnological products and evaluate their biosynthetic pathways.
