The aim of this course is to allow students to understand the molecular machinery that drives the major cellular events in health and disease and to appreciate the role that genetics and environmental influences such as nutrition play in these.

Die Studierenden erlangen einen Gesamtüberblick über zelluläre Vorgänge in gesunden und kranken Organismen und können abschätzen und begründen, wie genetische Veränderungen und Umwelteinflüsse (z.B. Ernährung) diese zellulären Vorgänge in positiver und negativer Weise beeinflussen können. Sie sind in der Lage, ein aktuelles Thema der Wissenschaft eigenständig aufzubereiten und in einem Seminarvortrag mit PowerPoint zu referieren.
