Module examination:

90-minute seminar presentation (presentation, teaching simulation, and discussion in the team) and written report (ca. 20 pages)

Workload:

180 hours: 60 hours attendance at the seminar 120 hours preparation and follow-up as well as preparation of a teaching simulation with written report

Professional competences:

The students are able to extend their knowledge in educational science acquired in the basic modules Educational Science and Vocational and Business education largely independently. They are able to independently write a structured paper on a predefined topic in the area of didactics of vocational teaching which adequately covers the topic and fulfils basic scientific standards. They are able to present the results of their work in front of a group of fellow students and to articulate and defend their point of view. The seminar module conveys the ability to plan sequences of vocational teaching on the basis of subject-specific and educational-scientific and didactic knowledge, and it enhances the ability to cooperate within groups in a solution-oriented way, to practice (and experience) criticism and self-criticism, and the ability to effectively associate scientific knowledge with situative requirements of the organisation of vocational teaching.

Comments:

As part of the vocational education specialisation, the module "Teaching Practice" must be elected additionally (4-week teaching internship); with the successful completion of this module it is assessed as "passed".
