This module provides the basic knowledge of and experience on physical processes in Life Sciences. This first part on education in Physics focuses on the following topics:
- Kinematics, mechanics and its fundamental laws such as Newton's axioms and equations of conservation of physical quantities,
- principles thermodynamics and its fundamental theorems, definition of thermodynamic variables,
- theory of oscillations and waves.
The module consists of a 2-h lecture, a 1-h exercise course, and a practical course. After the performance of this module, the students will be capable to apply the physical laws from these areas to scientific problems in connection with nutrition and food science as well as biotechnology.
