Degree Program:
Prerequisites for Attendance:

Working knowledge (or at least interest) in applied mathematics and numerical computation

Sprache:
English
ECTS:
7,5 credits
Frequency:
every summer semester
Length of the Module:
4 weeks (block 4)
Compulsory assignment:
Regular attendance and active participation in exercises
Module examination:
Written exam
Length of the examination:
120 minutes
Workload:

84 h presence + 104 h personal contribution = 188 h workload

Professional competences:

Students will learn the basic principles of modeling and simulation of biochemical reaction. They will be able to understand and build both deterministic and stochastic mathematical models then accessible to numerical simulation and further computational analysis by means of software packages.

Key competences:

Students will learn to translate concepts from biochemistry into a mathematical language and hence gain competence in analytic thinking. Furthermore, they will be capable of the use of computational software for answering scientific questions.
