Professional competences:

Students who have successfully completed this module will be able to explain and implement strategies and objectives relating to microbiome analysis. In this module, they acquire knowledge about the use of genetic markers, and their possibilities, in the analysis stage. They are able to identify and differentiate selected groups of bacterial pathogens as part of bioinformatic analysis, and to verify the results obtained in silico, using methods from microbiological and nucleic acid analysis.

Key competences:

Competences include the basics of scientific work, organisational skills, independent work, critical & analytical thinking, understanding and carrying out experiments according to laboratory protocols, microbiological culture techniques, handling of common laboratory equipment, application of standard bioinformatic and special software, communication and cooperation skills. Furthermore, students are given the skills to present their results during training (and results from scientific publications) and present them in talks.
