In this module, students learn autonomous scientific working while dealing with current questions concerning economic inequality. They are thus able to calculate and interpret important measures of economic inequality and can visually illustrate these. The students can list the main aspects of national and international developments of inequality, and are capable of explaining and integrating interrelations between inequality, economic growth, demography, technology, health and subjective well-being, and how these matter for economic policy. In general, the students are able to scrutinize, review and assess the various arguments. Applying these different competences, they can write a paper on the topics based on their own literature search.
