Acting entrepreneurial (i.e. flexible, innovative and proactive) is not restricted to young firms but concerns to the same degree established enterprises. Building upon this perspective, the aim of this course is to highlight the importance of Corporate Entrepreneurship for the competitiveness of established businesses. In this regard, Corporate Entrepreneurship entails various entrepreneurial activities on multiple levels including the individual, team, or organizational level. More specifically, this lecture broadly covers various topics such as for example Corporate Venture Capital, Business Model innovation, Open Innovation and Strategic Renewal. The various determinants of Corporate Entrepreneurship are discussed based on the relevant literature and illustrated with the help of specific cases of established as well as medium-sized companies.
