On successful completion of the module, you are able to explain the steps leading to the expression of a functional protein. You know how to differentiate the mechanisms of gene expression in prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms. You will appreciate how mechanistic concepts are derived from experimental data. You will be able to apply the knowledge gained in the lecture to understand original research articles and to critically evaluate the results presented in these articles. You learned to give a presentation and to participate actively in class discussions. You improved your skills in performing experiments at the lab bench.
