Professional competences:

After successfully completing the module, students are able to understand the complex molecular processes in pathogenesis of infectious diseases (bacterial, viral, fungal). In addition, students understand and are able to perform diagnostic laboratory methods, in particular microbiologial diagnosis.
In a group of international students, they are challenged with cultural differences and know different kinds of country-specific infectious diseases.

Key competences:

During preparation of and following up on lectures, students learn and practice self-reliant work and critical, analytical thinking. Intercultural competences are trained through the work in a mixed group of international students. While preparing their presentation, students learn and practice information research, structuring knowledge and information and visualising results. With the presentation, students enhance their oral articulateness and practice knowledge transfer.

Comments:

The language of the module depends on the students. If only German students participate, the lecture, exercises and exam take place in German, otherwise in English.
Limited to 12 - 15 participants. Please register for participation via ILIAS.
