The students can identify economic growth processes and are able to differentiate these from fluctuations such as business cycles. They are capable of listing and explaining the main determinants of long-run economic growth, and also of illustrating and estimating these by reference to calculations and figures. These determinants include the role of population growth, life expectancy, human and physical capital accumulation, international capital flows, the rate of time preference, and technological progress.
