In the proseminar, the students get to know the problems of transmission of biblical texts with the aid of two selected text examples from the Old Testament and the New Testament. In the proseminar, the students are introduced to the method of scientific, transparent text interpretation. The students get to know how textual criticism, literary criticism, form and genre criticism, motive criticism, and redaction criticism handles texts and what their goals are. The students are familiar with a hermeneutically responsible handling of biblical texts.
