It is the objective of the teaching session to give a deepened insight into seed biology and –ecology. The main emphases are put on: Systematics of seeds and fruits, physiology and compounds, pollination, seed development and –ripening, drying tolerance, distribution, dormancy, breaking of dormancy, seed banks and germination.
Lecture with power-point presentation, which is handed out printed. Discussions regarding the different topics. Diverse visual aids, questionnaires in relation to the homework.
