This course gives an overview of the tasks of the controlling department within the operational management. Causes and types of relationships between concrete controlling tasks and the entire leadership concept are discussed. A special emphasis of the lecture is on selected, typical controlling instruments. Work with key figures is introduced, and the students learn why it is important to deal carefully with concrete key figure definitions. The approach to balanced scorecards and value-centred managment control is conceptionally developed and illustrated in case studies.
