Fachkompetenzen:

Together with the recent increase in computing power, new modeling techniques have been developed in agricultural and resource economics. Techniques cover issues such as agent-based modeling, spatial economics and advanced econometrics, which are not yet included in standard textbooks. Their application requires a thorough understanding of quantitative modeling and computation.

This module teaches students how to apply the following advanced modeling techniques in empirical research:

- Land-use modeling with Multi-Agent Systems
- Accounting for selection bias in econometric modeling

Schlüsselkompetenzen:

Analytical thinking, oral presentation, scientific reading, data handling, processing and analysis

Anmerkungen:

Limited number of particpants - students must register in ILIAS before the module starts.
One part of the module is offered in Halle a. d. Saale!
