- Condition and interactions of components of the energy, water, and matter cycles across the compartments
- Impact of human being to the Earth system, the anthroposphere
- System theory
- nonlinear coupled systems and chaotic systems

Furthermore the students meet in person the representatives of the profession Earth System Science at the University of Hohenheim. The students meet the experts of different aspects in Earth System Science at the University.
