The students have in-depth knowledge of consumer policy instruments which can be used in case of a violation of the principle of consumer sovereignty in the market process. They know and understand the forms of market imperfections and the resulting multi-faceted reasons for market failure to the disadvantage of the consumers. They are able to name several consumer policy instruments and to comparatively analyse and evaluate them. Lecture and exercise sessions are application-oriented courses, which, especially in the theoretical part, build on the microeconomic-mathematical knowledge of the students and further extend it.
