- The module 3504-210 Saatgutkunde and the course 3501-213 Saatgutkunde und -produktion provide a good basis for this module. This module is a good preparation for the module 3504-430 Seed research.

 - point out seed characteristics and their importance for the handling of seed and the technical improvement of seed quality
 - give an overview of methods for seed quality improvement and evaluate their operating modes, resource requirements and potentials.
 - make suggestions for how to technically improve seed with a specific quality deficit.
 
 - describe and carry out methods for seed testing according to the International Seed Testing Association (ISTA).
 - evaluate factors of influence on the seed testing methods of ISTA.
 - describe the basics of method validation in seed testing and review validation results.
 - describe the structure and work procedures of a typical German seed testing laboratory.

 - realised international Ruels as as an objective of research
 - improved their skills in practical laboratory work including safety measures

      This module will be held in English. 
 
 The scripts for the two courses will be hand over in the first session for free. At the end of this module a seed quality laboratory will be visited and the main methods of seed quality testing will be demonstrated. Registration by joining the corresponding ILIAS course!
