Degree Program:
Relation to other Modules:
An advisable complement is the module 3103-440 "Spatial data analysis with GIS"
Prerequisites for Attendance:

Basic knowledge in mathematics and physics

Sprache:
English
ECTS:
6 credits
Frequency:
every summer semester
Length of the Module:
1 semester
Module examination:
Written exam
Length of the examination:
120 minutes
Workload:

56 h attendance + 124 h independent study = 180 h workload

Professional competences:

After completion of the module students can describe the basic principles of remote sensing including the radiative transfer equation. They can apply and improve methods for remote sensing of land-surface properties (temperature, fluxes, vegetation), of the atmosphere (temperature and humidity profiles, clouds, and precipitation). Students can interpret remote sensing data from satellites (e.g. visualization of high-impact weather events such as hurricanes).
