The students know the fields of the civil and commercial law which are essential for economists. They especially have basic knowledge of the general part of the "Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch" and the general and special part of the law of obligation and of the property law. In commercial law, the focus lies on the subsumtion of the legal element of a merchant, commercial transactions and disclosure requirements of the commercial register. The students have knowledge of the phrasing of a legal opinion and are able to solve civil and commercial cases. Furthermore they are able to use legal methodology and give a profound explanatory statement. The lecture is complemented by an exercise course in which the topics of the lecture are deepend by using cases. In doing so, structured working methods are learned and practised.

Lectures, partly with exercises. Both have to be finished up at home. The working time of university studies about equals the working time at home.
