Students possess an in-depth understanding of the functional principles of the most important international currency systems in economic history. Their know-how includes an understanding of the trade-offs of macroeconomic policy making with regard to internal and external equilibrium. They can describe international collision of interests by using simple macroeconomic models. They are in a good position to explain the rise and downfall of key currencies.
