Students possess an in-depth understanding of the economic valuation of health and know about the basic characteristics and differences of the health-care market. Their know-how includes methods to evaluate and compare certain health states and making evidence-based decisions in the health care sector. By learning those methods and theories students are enabled to read and understand health care studies, which gives them the opportunity to practically apply the obtained information in different sub-sectors . They are in a good position to answer basic questions regarding the economics of the health care sector and assess decisions for individual choices in health care with theory based models.
