With the aid of a historical context - mostly the Reformation (period) or modern era - the students get to know the basics of the Christian understanding of their faith. They have an overview of the eras of christian ecclesiastical history and the methodological competency to work out a historical formation of the Christian faith with the aid of historical source texts. They present their researched knowledge to a group of fellow students, and in a seminar paper they demonstrate that they can work independently, with methodological transparency, and in a quality-conscious way.
