The students have in-depth knowledge of the economic and business administrative approaches of modern innovation research, the important economic innovation theories and the institutional framework for innovation activities as well as approaches of innovation management which deal with questions of corporate knowledge organisation. They know and understand the basic terms and concepts of modern innovation research as well as their application areas and relevance and understand the neccessity of innovation from the point of view of corporations, regions and nations. They understand views of the individual inventor and entrepreneur and how these views are embedded into the economic framework. They are able to discuss the learned concepts and approaches with the aid of practically relevant examples. In addition to the acquisition of the contents and their reproduction, the students are able to apply the contents to real problem situations.
