- Genetic control of cellular differentiation
- Genetic control of development and pattern formation
- Genomics and proteomics

Practical course:
- Cytogenetics: mitosis and meiosis; preparation and microscopic examination of dipteran giant chromosomes
- Mendelian genetics: recombination mapping in Drosophila
- Gene technology: Diagnostic of transgenic plants
- Gene technology: Transformation of bacteria (E. coli)
- Molecular genetics: restriction mapping of DNA-plasmids
