Earth System Science (Master, since 01.10.2013)
- Prerequisites for Attendance:
-
Basic knowledge in chemistry at a level corresponding, for example, to the first/second year of a Bachelor study programme in the natural sciences.
- Sprache:
- German/English
- ECTS:
- 6 credits
- Frequency:
- every semester
- Length of the Module:
- blocked (by arrangement)
- Module examination:
- Written exam
- Length of the examination:
- 60 minutes
- Workload:
-
98 h attendance + 82 h independent study = 180 h workload
- Professional competences:
-
The students know the potential and limitations of the experimental simulation of prebiotic chemical processes and understand the underlying interdisciplinary approach. They realize that experimental simulation is only possible because of the universality of the laws of nature in time and space. The students acquire practical skills in handling chemical substances and using large instruments of modern chemical analysis.
- Key competences:
-
After having completed the module, the students should be able to independently organize their laboratory work and to combine theory and practice.
- Comments:
-
The module is offered several times per semester for a maximum of 5 students at a time.
Registration for the module: anytime in person with Prof. Dr. Strasdeit or Dr. Fox.
