The students learn to think in larger spatial and longer temporal scales and recognize evolution as a universal phenomenon. They understand how climate and chemistry of the Earth system developed over long time scales and that it will further change in the future. In addition, the students can distinguish between natural and anthropogenic influences on the Earth system.
