- problems of scale transitions in biological research and scientific methodology.
- mass flows, transpiration and water budgets in relation to C- and N-supply.
- plant adaptations, flowering biology and mechanisms of dispersal.
- basics in dendrochronology.
- plant responses to pathogens.

The courses provide methodologies and experiments relevant to the lecture contents.
