Professional competences:

Students have in-depth knowledge of the terminology of Business Spanish, especially a deeper understanding of the internal and external challenges of an internationally active corporation. They know and understand linguistic nuances from the different functions of a corporation and they can express themselves in the foreign language in a detailed way about the external environment of a corporation and the associated challenges (e.g. international trade, founding of subsidiaries). They are able to understand the complex environment of a corporation (e.g. challenges of the digital age, globalisation) and to analyse specific situations. Hereby, especially comparisons between different corporations of the destination countries and of the country of origin play a role. In comparison to the basic module, the advanced module puts a stronger emphasis on the mastery of the linguistic structures (e.g. appropriate idiomatics, tone/style) required for the Council of Europe C1 level and on the understanding of intercultural aspects.
