The students have in-depth knowledge of the core economic basics of competition law. They are familiar with the methods of market demarcation, the analysis of the formation and the statbility of cartels, the assessment of economic effects of anti-competetive behaviours and the analysis of verbal restrictions as well as horizontal, vertical and conglomerate mergers. They are able to apply the acquired knowledge to concrete competition cases under consideration of economic and legal arguments. They can recognise interdisciplinary problems which result from the area of conflict between anti-trust law and industrial economics and can weigh the different points of view against each other.
