Economic statistical analyses are very often based on sample data. Thus, at the beginning, the lecture provides an overview of alternative sample approaches. Besides simple random samples, this also includes higher sampling methods. After that, some selected economic statistical issues are discussed. Hereby, not only respective statistical measuring concepts and econometrical model approaches are presented, but the course especially imparts to students the ability to conduct economic scientific analyses themselves and to question the results of such analyses. The exercise sessions integrated into the lecture enhance and extend the unterstanding of the course contents.
