The course introduces students to the core subject General Business Administration. General Business Adminstration tries to counter the trend toward specialisation in ever more sub-disciplines and to convey a general overview of the questions of management and recent management research. The aim of the lecture is to provide an overview of the most important theories and explanatory approaches and to apply these to a selected spectrum of managerial functions and decision situations in different kinds of corporations.

For each topic there are 1-2 chapters are given as core literature as well as additional recommended readings. The core literature should at best be read completely and preferably already in preparation for the lecture. The main parts of the core literature are summarised in a reader which is available for purchase at the ASTA.
