The lecture builds on the basic study course "Monetary Policy". The knowledge about instruments and theoretical modes of action in monetary politics acquired there is intensified in light of the institutional background of the European monetary union. Here, above all, strategic alternatives of the central bank behaviour, economic-political trade-offs and the special problems of a uniform monetary policy in divergent economic conditions in the individual member countries are examined.
