Besides an introduction to the objects, approaches and fundamentals of statistics, this course covers descriptive frequency distributions as well as distributions of random variables and how these distributions can be characterised by parameters. Especially basic approaches of disparity and concentration analysis as well as the construction and use of index figures are presented. Furthermore, an introduction to basic terms and concepts of probability theory will be given.
