The lecture gives an overview of the methods of economic evaluation of programs in the field of health care. Furthermore, students learn using a checklist a critical approach to health economic evaluations in the literature. The lecture introduces the structure and institutional framework of the German health insurance system. Besides organisational aspects of the dual health Contents insurance system, which consists of the Statutory and the Private Health lnsurance, the lecture focuses on economic issues, like incentive-compatible design and the sustainable financing of health insurance systems.
