Students have an in-depth and advanced knowledge of endogenous growth theory, corresponding formal models and their empirical implementation. They know the central concepts regarding the role of innovation and technological progress to explain economic growth and are able to derive and analyze that role within mathematical approaches. Furthermore, students can compare different approaches for explaining the connection between technological developments, productivity, human capital, and economic growth. They also have the means to test the theoretical propositions by making use of empirical data and know how to assess and interpret the results. Students can make use of their knowledge to answer complex questions regarding economic growth and are able to derive economic policy recommendations.
