The lecture covers different aspects of oligopolistic market structures such as research and development, patent races and horizontal and vertical mergers. Furthermore, vertical restrictions such as price fixing or market closure are analysed and newer developments of industrial economics, e.g. network effects and two-sided markets are discussed.
