The lecture provides an overview on people's cognition, emotion and behavior in social or economic contexts. The first part of the lecture focuses on the individual conveying analyzing how individuals process social information and use this information to construe their view of their social environment. Important topics in this context are, besides the information processing in the social context, the perception of one's self and of others as well as attitude development and change.
The second part of the lecture focuses on interpersonal interaction and its importance for individual cognition, emotion, and behavior. Here, important issues are social influence, the particularities of groups regarding their performance and judgement, or the development of, usage of, and adherence to prejudices. - Literature:
