The purpose of financial accounting is to provide information regarding current operations and the financial condition of a business to individuals, agencies, and organizations. This course covers the basic structure and functionality of financial accounting. The objective is to generate a basic understanding of T-accounts, double entry accounting, and the resulting financial statements. Students learn to recognize and assess transactions within an organization based on financial data, as well as, to evaluate the financial health of an organization based on financial accounting data.
